Sad but true, I love to move furniture..
Rearrange furniture to get a better look, or use or change
Good excuse this weekend which involved a large number of teenagers for a sleepover..
So the TV / family room needed more seating.
oooh yay an excuse to move furniture (like I need an excuse but it always helps)

Of course moving furniture always involves "plonking" items that are in the way somewhere else
Those gorgeous red roses which are still going strong after the lovely Andrea gave them to me a while back, they where already there but after "plonking" the old chandelier next to it
Well
I think it kinda works, so I'm leaving it there for a bit
SO
We decided to move this large white slip covered three seater from here in the centre room
Into the room behind it
I dont normally like putting furniture in front of windows but I actually like the look of this and the room finally "works"
We get a wonderful amount of winter sun through this window so it will be a lovely spot to sit with a few magazines..

So now there are two couches facing each other, Tv to one end and a long coffee table to the centre.

I left the standard lamp with crystals at one end for a bit of sparkle and an extra industrial art room chair that someone had painted the wood section white ~ a great little side table that was part of this set..

Hubs suggested putting the old army chest underneath for extra storage, a perfect fit and as its on castors it rolls out when needed.
I totally love this old pine table because:
1. It only cost $5 at a garage sale
2. Previous owner had left it out in the weather so its totally time worn
3. Previous owner had a go at painting then stripping the top to white then gave up. I love this unfinished totally shabby look so perfect!
4. Previous owner didnt have any red back spiders in their shed so I didnt have to do an extermination of lethal poisonous spiders before bringing it inside unlike a set of three chairs I bought a few weeks back.
I'm having a thing about touches of silver at the moment (could go on for a while) so added this old silver tray to the table..

as she was sprawled out amongst the feather cushions, youngest requested that we leave the room like it is..

I think we just might!
So how much did this all cost to put together?
As I have sent myself broke buying Antique Platters, well not much which is just as well ..

1. Moran White slip covered three seater feather couch ~ $100 ebay Australia
(totally squeeled over this bargain ~ you can find a bargain too, when searching ebay don't do a search for the obvious, for example the seller of this item failed to mention it was a Moran AND slipcovered, just listed it as 3 seater couch with no further details.)
2. Striped Cushions ~ $10 Target Australia
(they were on sale at the time but I did give my friends on Facebook the heads up on this one, pop over and have a peek!)
3. Totally cool and weatherworn spiderless coffee table ~ $5 garage sale
4. Green Rug ~ $20 opp / thrift store
5. Silver Footed Tray ~ $2 garage sale.
6. Wood and glass door ~ side of the road FREE
TOTAL = $147.00
dont you love it when it all comes together??
