the first last year was a huge success

and us Vendors had a great time

I've got my treasures packed and ready to go..

I've got French Louis..

and lace..

 

with the clack of an antique typewriter key..

 

and some Vintage Gallon bottles to boot..

I love taking photos of treasures for my ebay store..

Its good fun to "style" them and get the shot just right..

and sometimes they turn out just how I want..

and you know how I love old mirrors...

layering more treasure on top of treasure..

I love these rainy, cold days where you get to play around the house..

Vintage Wallpaper & boxes

Was chatting to some lovely friends on the weekend..

and the conversation came around to vintage wallpaper

and the pretty things that can be made from them..

I've started a little collection on top of my wardrobe

Of boxes that were covered many many years ago in luscious layers of vintage wallpaper..

Showing off in the last bastion of rosey girlishness in this big old home..

Our bedroom..

 

I can store away some not so pretty things inside..

and still have those gorgeous designs on show..

That little square box is a recent Wallpaper box with Vintage paper

made by Kirstie over at Adeline Country Cottage

she has the most stunning collection of Vintage wallpaper..

 

I think they do look a little better than a stack of plastic boxes..

I have to say

my tastes have really changed over the years..

I did love the shabby chic look with all the pinks and roses

and I still do

I dont think I will part with my Roses oil paintings for some time yet.

And you really cant go past a house full of white walls..

but I have to say

there is less and less pink in our home lately.

you will have the opportunity to purchase my vintage pink plates in all shapes and sizes..and a few blue ones too..

and also some beautiful old frames

I've kept them for a few years now

but need to make more room..

they are just waiting to be used again..

 

 

So where am I going with my decorating of this big old house?

I'm just going with what I like..

not what I think I should like

if you know what I mean..

a nice mix of things that grab my attention..

Glass, crystals, soda syphons, old bottles

and glove moulds..

They are quirky and eye catching and thats what I love these days..

Found that Victorian Cranberry decanter at an op shop yesterday for $1

No stopper but it has little gold birds hand painted on it

and it catches the light beautifully

just my thing these days..

Nice bright and airy..

Who knows where my taste in decorating will go next..

but I sure do love looking for it and the journey on the way..

Antique Royalty and a typewriter...

I love my job.

Just love it..

cause I get to go find wonderful things

in piles of junk

and bring it home to play with

some I keep

some I put into my ebay store

some I keep for a while and THEN put into my ebay store

because I find something I like better...

'

 

This little cupboard I found at a market one early Sunday way out in Country Victoria..

I did buy it to sell..

but for now

I love it

because it fits perfectly in this spot

next to our black Ikea Ektorp two seater..

it might stay for a while..

because it has a nice wide top to display treasures on..

and big drawers and doors to store things in..

So when I found this gorgeous old picture of Antique Royalty..

Well I had to add him to the mix..

 

Turns out after a bit of googling that this fine gentleman

is His Majesty King George V

in full Navy dress uniform..
