The out takes from THE Country Style magazine photo shoot

Well it has been a while now since the magazine article came out in Country Style magazine

February 2012 to be exact and the photos themselves were taken around three months before that..

Country style kindly sent me a disc of the photos

which I promptly lost..

I spent a good three hours looking for them this afternoon

My husband found them under the record player with all the CD's...

don't ask me how it got there...

My husband has a real knack for finding things I lose...

anyhow..

when I look at the photos now

I can't believe how much the house has changed in that small amount of time

It's evolved

it's like the house has lost a little weight from all that extra stuff

I have too (which is good but that's another story)

Another touch of shabby Retro

I've been keeping this little lovely on a shelf since the middle of winter

When I spotted her hiding in a big Antique Store

It was of course the blue that caught my eye

And then to see that bit of "sculptural vintage lines"

well that was the clincher.

Didnt matter it was the middle of Winter..

Plus I've always had a thing for old Fans.

 

My parents had a blue and white one that they pulled out every Summer

that clunked and wizzed away on a bench

sending out shots of blissful coolness as you walked by

And of course everyone has tried to "talk" into a fan havent they?

Hilarious

like a reverberating Helium voice

Oh yes you remember now don't you?

I see that smile on your face...

Well she was just going to sit on the bench

as all good fans do..

But my husband who does a lot of cooking

Had a better idea

Because these vintage beauties have a slot under the base so you can put them on a wall too...

Ah the good old days eh?

So now she clunks and chops air from her little perch on the wall...

Cooling down a hot summer kitchen too

Plus now the kids fingers are safe

An important consideration..

I guess you could call this a part Kitchen Renovation.

After all, a screw had to be put in the wall.

Kitchen scales & Mums day...........

I've been looking for ages...

The very right kitchen piece to put into special service...

It had to be quite old ..

with its original pan..

and big enough to hold some fruit..

Well I finally found it!

in all its 1930's green enamel loveliness...

the very sweet little blue USA one I already had

don't they make the cutest scales over there in America?....

Look at its sweet little face..

But too small for all the fruit...

(but great for sitting our mobile phones on whilst they are charging!)

But these old enamel ones are from Birmingham England

and they tick all the boxes...

My mums day present..

along with strawberry pastries made by our middle cherub..

a favourite CD (Vanessa Amorosi) from my eldest cherub..

and Frangipani room scent from my youngest cherub, plus earrings she made herself...

and a big bunch of Liliums from my husband...

Breakfast out at one of our favourite Cafes in the village...

BLISS..
