The point in time where I take a leap and knuckle down to something I have wanted to do for a long time.
Always excuses not to
but this time I thought
you know what?
I'm going for it
I'm going to find a way
and I'm going to do it.
There's always a reason (or two or three) not to do things.
but this time I turned it around and found the reasons TO do it.
So here it goes..
The place where it is going to sit
My Mountain Studio...

that's the old stables in the background.
I looked at getting those converted but they are sitting too far back on the boundary
and basically they are falling down.
So the cost of fixing and converting them isnt worth it.
also we would have to create a driveway down to them and excavate and retain.
Not cost effective even though aesthetically they look very cute!
so ...
We have decided to put the studio to the side of the stables so it will be positioned in relation to the house like this.

The site has only had to be cleared of what are termed as "noxious weeds" up here
which are funnily enough NOT elsewhere.
Holly
Pittosporum
Sycamore maple.

Now have all met "mr chainsaw"
There wasnt a lot to clear although this spot is our Bluebell field in spring
but they will spread out again so I'm not too worried

The spot has been measured up and staked out ..

Ready now to go to council for Building and planning permits.
This is the part that will take up most of the time

And there is still a bit of site preparation to go..
The front of the studio is going to be sitting on the turning circle of the driveway and there are a few large rocks in that area
We have made a start though
And this is my first blog post of the journey we are taking
and so it begins...
